Where We Start

InboxShielder was built around a single rule: your inbox belongs to you, not to us and not to advertisers. This page covers what we collect, why, and how tightly it's protected. Zero-knowledge architecture sits underneath everything we do.

What We Can't Touch

Message content and attachments are encrypted before they ever land on our servers. We hold no key that would let us open them, so this data category simply isn't available to us, by design.

What Still Comes Through

A narrow set of operational details still reaches us, even with your content sealed off:

  • Your email address and username
  • Billing details, routed through an outside payment processor
  • Basic technical signals, like IP address and browser type
  • Sign-in activity and which features you use

Where That Data Goes

It's used for a handful of specific things:

  • Keeping the platform running day to day
  • Handling billing and account notices
  • Fixing bugs and shipping improvements
  • Catching fraud before it spreads
  • Meeting legal obligations that apply to us

How We Lock It Down

AES-256 encryption runs on your device before anything transmits, backed by a zero-knowledge model that keeps decryption out of our hands entirely, regardless of who's asking. Our servers sit in jurisdictions with genuinely strong privacy law behind them.

When Anything Gets Shared

Your data isn't sold, traded, or rented. It only moves under a few conditions:

  • You've given clear permission
  • A court order or legal process requires it
  • Our own rights, safety, or property are at risk
  • A vetted partner is helping us operate, under a confidentiality agreement

What You're Owed

You can ask to see your data, fix what's wrong, delete your account outright, object to how it's processed, or export it in a portable format, whenever you like.

On Cookies

Kept minimal, limited to what security and basic function actually require. Nothing here tracks you for advertising. Your browser settings give you the final say.

Data That Crosses Borders

Our infrastructure runs out of Switzerland, chosen for its privacy standards. Logging in from elsewhere may route your data briefly through these systems, all under solid legal protection.

Age Requirements

Built for users 16 and older. We don't set out to collect from anyone younger, and if we learn we have, that data gets removed right away.

If This Page Changes

Updates get reflected here with a new date at the top, and anything significant gets called out directly rather than buried in fine print.
